Colorado-based Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association is proposing an energy plan that will close two coal power plants and significantly boost the amount of renewable energy sources on its system.Tri-State filed the new electric resource plan with state regulators Friday. The wholesale power supplier is seeking up to $970 million in grants and loans through the U.S Department of Agriculture’s Empowering Rural America program, aimed at helping rural communities make the transition to renewable energy.Tri-State serves more than 40 rural electric associations in Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico and Nebraska. The utility has proposed to move up retirement of Unit 3 of its Craig coal-fired power plant to Jan. 1, 2028, from the end of 2029. With the closure of the plant in Craig, Tri-State won’t have any coal resources in Colorado, spokesman Lee Boughey said. The company has also proposed closing a unit of a coal plant near Springerville, Ariz., by 2031. Almost any NFL team that wins five straight games has to do a lot of things well and also catch a little bit of luck along the way.Such was the case for the Broncos between Oct. 19 and Sunday, when they reeled off victories in all kinds of ways — last-second heart-stoppers, grind-it-out slugfests and convincingly powerful wins against Kansas City and Cleveland.Perhaps underrated as a strong point for Sean Payton’s team in that run: The Broncos jumped out to a lead in all five games, allowing themselves to play from ahead and, thus, play exactly how they wanted to.They led Green Bay 9-0, Kansas City 7-0 (and 14-3), Buffalo 9-0, Minnesota 3-0 and Cleveland 14-0. The only points the Broncos surrendered in the first quarter came on a field goal from Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker and only the Vikings led at all in the first half. The defense otherwise had come out of the gates humming, and the offense more or less figured out a way to put at least some points on the board early in games....Colorado’s Cottonwood Pass from Gypsum to Roaring Fork Valley closed for winter

Animal shelters across America have been struggling with overpopulation, and the issue is hitting especially hard for one shelter in Tustin that is still reeling from the effects of the massive hangar fire. Officials at Orange County Animal Care say that the number of adoptions is not keeping up with the number of dogs coming into the shelter, which has at times forced them to care for 100 more dogs than their facility can handle. Officials said the issue only grew worse as pandemic-era work restrictions ended, which led to some who adopted or purchased pets during the lockdown being unable to care for them. Lower heating costs expected after ‘shockingly high’ bills of last winter “[Many] people adopted dogs during COVID,” said Alexa Pratt with O.C. Community Resources. “And as they have been going back to work, they really don’t know what to do with them, so they have been bringing them to shelters.” More than 100 dogs were transported on two charter planes to Ohio due ...Nick Cannon reveals high cost of bringing his kids to Disneyland

Amid the easily accessible artificial intelligence softwares and social media platforms, the global attention and participation in the crisis surrounding arab settlement near Dead Sea and neighbouring areas, had been massive. The AI technology had been inciting and exacerbating the spread of misinformation propaganda, under which the dissemination of recycled footage of past conflicts and contradictory narratives had already been spreading across X (formerly Twitter), TikTok and Instagram.
